The high demand of live reef food fish particularly in Hong Kong has driven overexploitation of target species such as the Humphead Wrasse (So Mei). Juvenile reef fish are being captured in the wild even before they can reproduce. To help conserve populations, we should consider other kinds of food fish and discourage restaurants and markets from selling the endangered Humphead Wrasse.
