Description

Hong Kong Hiking Meetup has been supporting AFCD’s Take Your Litter Home (TYLH) campaign almost 2 years volunteering over 100 events picking up litters on trails and promoting TYLH message. We reckon it might take years if not decades to change Hong Kong’s hiking culture on “Take Your Litter Home” TYLH message. Years after all hiking done by this generation of hikers, our wish is to leave some legacy knowing we as a group of hikers were once active on some good messages to preserve HK’s nature – TYLH for one. If you find this also meaningful to you, we ask you to support us by signing this message. We like to see how many signatures we would collect next 2 years as a way to tell us we are not alone on this journey. Thank you. SK Shum Hong Kong Hiking Meetup Organiser

Petition Letter

To Hiking Public On Take Litter Home,

Hong Kong Hiking Meetup has been supporting AFCD’s Take Your Litter Home (TYLH) campaign almost 2 years volunteering over 100 events picking up litters on trails and promoting TYLH message. We reckon it might take years if not decades to change Hong Kong’s hiking culture on “Take Your Litter Home” TYLH message. Years after all hiking done by this generation of hikers, our wish is to leave some legacy knowing we as a group of hikers were once active on some good messages to preserve HK’s nature – TYLH for one. If you find this aslo meaningful to you, please support our nature on the following during hikes:

  1. use reusable water bottles
  2. use towels instead of paper tissues
  3. take your litters home

Our volunteered hikers find aweful lots of plastic bottle and paper tissue wastes when cleaning trails. Your focus on reducing use of plastic bottle and paper tissue would greatly improve our trail conditions. Thank you SK Shum Hong Kong Hiking Meetup Organiser

This petition was started by Hong Kong Hiking Meetup HKHM on January 18, 2017, with an end date of January 1, 2019.

Hong Kong Hiking Meetup HKHM is probably the world's largest organised hiking group with over 23,000 registered members. We organise about 1,800 hikes a year average more than 4 hikes a day!

1) Hong Kong Hiking Meetup does not organise or discriminate based on age, gender or religious affiliations. We do discriminate based on clothing and fitness; people mustn't wear jeans or inappropriate shoes on our hikes. We reserve the right to exclude people based on less than optimal fitness, to protect the hiker in question from injury and / or other unforeseen circumstances. This allows other hikers to enjoy their journey as freely as their own fitness will allow.

2) Hong Kong Hiking Meetup will never post a hike or organise a hike on Facebook (except with HelperChoice which we schedule hikes for domestic helpers in Facebook regularly), Twitter or any website other than its Meetup home page. All hikes must be organized through the official Hong Kong Hiking Meetup page.
