Last year in March, a four-stories-tall illegal construction waste was discovered in Tin Shui Wai, the company who rented and operated the site was fined for illegally occupying government and fly-tipping. Unfortunately, the illegal dumping didn’t stop developing and has been converted into a golf course. A proposal was submitted to Town Planning Town that it proposes to a filling the land of construction waste dump site to make way for “Golf Driving Range with Ancillary Shop and Services, Eating Place and Office, and Barbecue Area.”
This is a classic case of “destroy first and develop later” behaviour, which may establish a very bad precedent for the government and society. Sign petition to say no to this blatant land abuse!
I object to this Application A/YL-PS/547 to a filling of land for “Golf Driving Range with Ancillary Shop and Services, Eating Place and Office, and Barbecue Area.”
There is insufficient information in the submission to demonstrate that the proposed development would have insignificant impacts on the environment, ecology, drainage and sewerage in the area including Mai Po Nature Reserve and Inner Deep Bay; and surrounding areas.
The proposed development is made up of illegal dumping and construction waste, no Geotechnical impact assessment has been provided in the submission to prove that the proposed development will not have the potential risk of collapse and will endanger the future site users and the surrounding areas.
The proposed development was not compatible with the rural character of the surrounding area.
